We have are happy to be able to bring you a training session on June 21, 2013 that will satisfy the ACFE requirements for 2 hours of ethics training that is required for CFE's.

Registration will be at 8:30 am  to 9 am , with presenation 9-11 am.

There will be a $25 fee for this meeting for members.  The nonmember/guest fee will be $40.  Refreshments will be provided.

We are fortunate to have Carol Carson, Executive Director of the CT Office of State Ethics share here knowledge and experience in this area.

Carol Carson is the executive director of the Connecticut Office of State Ethics.  The Office of State Ethics is charged with enforcement of ethics provisions for state-wide elected officials, legislators, appointed public officials, state employees and lobbyists, issuing opinions to guide ethical conduct of the regulated community, and administering the lobbyist disclosure system and the financial disclosure system for public officials and state employees. 

 Prior to joining the Connecticut Office of State Ethics, Ms. Carson served at the Massachusetts Ethics Commission as a member of senior management where she was responsible for the Commission’s communication functions through media relations, written publications, web site and educational programs.    She worked on that agency’s legislative team and served as liaison to professional organizations.  She began her career in government ethics as an investigator.  She previously worked as a reporter with the Bay State Newspaper Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

 Ms. Carson is a past president of the Council on Government Ethics Laws and served as a member of the editorial board of the Public Integrity Journal.  She serves on the City of Hartford Civilian Police Review Board.  She is a magna cum laude graduate of Wellesley College and holds a Master of Science in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts.
